Zitclav suspension

Zitclav suspension is used for:

  • Infections by susceptible organisms in lower respiratory tract
  • urinary tract
  • skin
  • bone and joint infections.
  • The treatment of Gonorrhoea.

Composition

Each 5ml contains:

  • Cefuroxime 125mg
  • Clavulanic acid 31.25mg

Dosage

Dosage based on cefuroxime:

  • 125-250mg/12hrs for 7 – 10 days.
  • Depending on the severity of infection, can increase dose or duration to 500mg or 20 respectively.
  • 3 months – 12yrs: 20-30mg/kg/12hrs for 10 days.

Maximum is 500mg or 1,000mg in more severe infections
